Hi! If we haven’t met before, I’m Bobbi Harrison, a freelance writer, journalist, and marketing and communications strategist. I’m based in the New York City metropolitan area, just east of the Queens border, in a real town the fictional Ray Barone called home. But I work with organizations and professionals throughout the United States.

Most of my work happens remotely (and I’ve been doing it that way for more than a decade), but I’m always up for the occasional in-person meetup or brainstorming session with clients who are local—especially if it comes with an everything bagel, good coffee, and great conversation. For over 20-plus years, I’ve written, edited, and strategized across a range of industries, from animal welfare to healthcare staffing. I’ve helped shape “grab you by the collar” content and strengthen communications that support everything from marketing, to recruitment, to retention.


My passion for clarity and transformation also drives my work with cultuRemedy, a consulting firm I co-founded to help organizations across the country cultivate positive, productive workplace cultures. We work with companies to improve their employee engagement, internal communications, and leadership development—because thriving, engaged teams create thriving, successful businesses.

My love of writing was ignited in Mr. Ognibene’s summer school English class at P.S. #2, and my content-creating journey began before blogs were commonplace and Wi-Fi a workplace staple. Libraries, landlines, and legwork were the research tools of the day, and a little case of Ko-Rec-Type correction strips was just a few bucks and easy to find at your favorite mom-and-pop stationery store.


I got my start as a staff writer, covering the experiences and adventures of travel nurses and allied health professionals who accepted 13-week assignments at facilities around the country. Over the years, I rose to the role of editor-in-chief and led editorial for Healthcare Traveler and LocumLife, the first magazine for locum tenens physicians. I also served as managing editor of Healthcare Management and Staffing Solutions.


Eventually, I moved from covering the healthcare staffing industry to working in it—helping companies refine their marketing and communications initiatives, elevate messaging, and create campaigns that supported recruitment and retention. The transition felt like a natural progression. I already understood the audiences. I knew the industry. And I had built strong, lasting relationships with staffing leaders and providers alike.


Since then, I’ve also:

  • Co-founded cultuRemedy, a scalable workplace culture consultancy designed to flex with evolving opportunities and priorities
  • Launched the “Pay It Forward” Project, providing career transition support
  • Written for platforms like Sixty and Me, focused on confidence, career, and relationships


In addition to my freelance work, I now serve as Marketing Manager and Client Success Partner at MTN Matchmaking, a national relationship-focused service helping commitment-minded singles find love. It’s a joy to blend heart and strategy in a space where authentic connection matters.


I’ve worked remotely for more than a decade, in both editorial and marketing and communications leadership roles. During that time, I’ve been recognized as a top performer and honored for leadership excellence. I’ve traveled to home offices, trade shows, and conferences, and even temporarily relocated when needed. But my best work? That happens right here, from my home office in New York, where strategy, execution, and storytelling come together.

I believe great partnerships are built on connection. Here are a few things you might not know about me:

  • I once worked in an English pub in the late ’90s—an experience filled with good people and great stories.
  • I was (possibly) NYC’s oldest intern at a YA literary agency, where I gained valuable insight into the publishing world.
  • I’ve won a Gold Azbee Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
  • I once wrote a resume to read like the chapter of a book. It featured me on an interview I hoped to have with the agency I sent it to—and it worked.
  • I have a soft spot for expertly proofed content and perfectly made upside-down Sicilian pizza.
